Carlos Quintana was born in 1966 in Havana, Cuba. Since 1993 he has shared his time between Havana and Madrid, Spain. He was educated at the San Alejandro Academy of Fine Arts and the Havana Institute of Design. His work is representative of the new generation of Cuban artists like Santiago Rodríguez Olazábal, Roberto Diago, José Angel Toirac, and Los Carpinteros. For more than 15 years, Quintana’s work has traveled the globe, appearing in Spain, Mexico, Venezuela, Cuba, the United States, Costa Rica, and more recently Canada. His participation in international fairs like Arco, Art Miami, and Art Basel has confirmed his reputation as one of the leading names on the contemporary Cuban art scene.
